Coordinators of the session: Aleksander Panjek, Žarko Lazarević
The Integrated Peasant Economy (IPE) is a new concept used to «define the income integration system in peasant economies, based on combining activities from the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. The concept was developed basing on Slovenia and the Alps and successfully applied on different realities. The project was indeed international, involving colleagues from Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden and Japan». For more information and detailed analysis you can access a book edited by Aleksander Panjek, Jesper Larsson and Luca Mocarelli, Integrated Peasant Economy in a Comparative Perspective: Alps, Scandinavia and Beyond (2017). It is freely available through http://www.hippocampus.si/isbn/humanistika/
The session (organized by Alexander Panjek and Žarko Lazarević) will try to test the applicability of the concept of an Integrated Peasant Economy on the south-eastern European peasant societies, mostly in the time-frame 16th-20th century.
Deadline for abstracts submission: 30.9.2018
