The Integrated Peasant Economy (IPE) is a new concept used to «define the income integration system in peasant economies, based on combining activities from the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. The concept was developed basing on Slovenia and the Alps and successfully applied on different realities. The project was indeed international, involving colleagues from Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden and Japan». The session (organized by Alexander Panjek and  Žarko Lazarević) will try to test the applicability of the concept of an Integrated Peasant Economy on the south-eastern European peasant societies, mostly in the time-frame 16th-20th century.
