Περίληψη

Small businesses are still a neglected issue in economic and business history. When they are studied, researchers generally consider them collectively through data aggregated at the macro-analytical level.  Rarely has the discussion on their operation progressed beyond generalities emphasizing their archaic characteristics in term of economic choices, social patterns and emotional sets driving their members.  The objective of the researches I am carrying on is to study small family businesses more closely, at the meso- and micro-analytical level, and to expand the study of company biographies, and of family relationships within them, to the vast and underexplored realm of small business.  To do so I focus on the construction industry and, more particularly, on the entrepreneurial trajectories of migrants from the mountains of the Mediterranean who settled in the Paris metropolitan area from the late 19^th century to the mid-20^th century.

Τα Σεμινάρια πραγματοποιούνται, ώρα 17.00-19.00, στο Εθνικό Ίδρυμα Ερευνών (Βασ. Κωνσταντίνου 48, Αθήνα, ισόγειο, αίθουσα συνεδριάσεων, στάση «ΕΙΕ»  ή μετρό «Ευαγγελισμός»). H είσοδος είναι ελεύθερη για το κοινό.
