Update: CfP, 40th Conference of the Portuguese Economic and Social History Association, Economic and Social History: Past, Present and Future, Nova School of Business and Economics, Online, 9-10 July 202130-06-2020 09:48
Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic crisis, the Organising Committee of the 40th Conference of APHES has decided to move it to an online format. The dates of 9 and 10 July 2021 remain the same, as well as the theme. The new deadline for proposals is now 14 December 2020. Paper and panel proposals already submitted may be considered for the new format if the proponents who have made them wish to. If not, they can be replaced by new proposals.
Since the topic of this year's conference is the 40th anniversary of the association, all researchers in economic and social history are invited to submit proposal for panels or individual papers on the topics they are currently developing without any restriction in terms of subject. As is usual in APHES’ conferences, proposal or panels on any historical period are accepted.
Paper proposals should include 4 keywords, an abstract (max. 500 words) indicating the topic, the aims, the theoretical approach and the empirical foundations; and a CV of 300-400 words. Panel proposals should include the same information for each participant and paper. They should include three papers and a chair for each proposed panel.
In case the same author submits different individual proposals, only one will be accepted. The author of an accepted individual proposal can have another proposal accepted only in the situation where she/he is a co-author of the second proposal.
Participation in the 40th Conference of APHES is reserved to members with their 2020’s membership fee up-to-date (30€ normal/15€ student). Accepted participants that are not members of APHES will have to become members and pay the 2020 membership fee. They may do so upon registration.
