The Historical Economics and Development Group (HEDG), Department of Economics at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a three-year Assistant Professorship in Economic History, starting 1 September 2025. The position is part of the Historical Economics and Development Group (HEDG) and linked to a Carlsberg Foundation project on private foundations, medical innovation, and health inequality, led by Anthony Wray. Experience with large-scale historical data and/or large language models (LLMs) is an advantage.

The fellow is expected to interact with faculty and researchers, present work at our workshops, actively participate in workshops and conferences, and conduct historical research in the fields finance and / or inequality.
