The Department of Economics at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for two fully-funded 3-year PhD positions affiliated with the Historical Economics and Development Group (HEDG).

 

A. PhD Scholarship in Applied Economics (Disability Reform Project)

 Supervised by Associate Professor Volha Lazuka

 Research focus: Assessing the causal impacts of disability reforms in Denmark and Sweden from the 1980s to the 2000s

 Location: Odense, Denmark

 International research stay: 6 months at MIT

B. PhD Scholarship in Economic History (Health Innovation Project)

 Supervised by Associate Professor Anthony Wray

 Research focus: Private investment and innovation in health care in the US during the early twentieth century

 Location: Odense, Denmark

 International research stay: 6 months abroad
