The Dondena Center at Bocconi University seeks to hire one postdoctoral researcher in Economic History working on projects funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research. The position will last 20 months, starting in January 2024.

The postdoc will work on assembling a new dataset on Italian guilds in pre-industrial times to construct a new taxonomy of apprenticeship rules across different urban centers in early-modern Italy (17th to the mid-19th centuries).

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to conduct research in Italian historical archives, working on documents from the early modern times and related to guilds regulation and organization of the apprenticeship. Good knowledge of Italian and English languages is required.
