Oikonomos: A Journal of Student Research in the History of Economic Thought is accepting submissions of papers for a special issue on Adam Smith and the Wealth of Nations to be published in Fall 2026.  Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to submit their papers on any aspect of Smith's life and work and/or any aspect of the Wealth of Nations and its context that they choose to address.  In addition to research papers, shorter essays and book reviews on Smith and the Wealth of Nations and related subjects are also welcome.

Το Πολιτιστικό Ίδρυμα Ομίλου Πειραιώς οργανώνει επιστημονική συνάντηση με τίτλο «Αγροτική οικονομία και αγροτική πίστη στην Ελλάδα», τη Δευτέρα 2 Φεβρουαρίου 2026 (ώρα 17:00), στο κτήριό του στον Ταύρο. H συνάντηση εντάσσεται στη δράση «Τεκμήρια τραπεζικής ιστορίας» και πραγματοποιείται με αφορμή τη διάθεση στην ερευνητική κοινότητα σημαντικών αρχειακών σειρών της Αγροτικής Τράπεζας Ελλάδος (ΑΤΕ), οι οποίες φυλάσσονται στις συλλογές του Πολιτιστικού Ιδρύματος.

Με μεγάλη θλίψη πληροφορηθήκαμε την απώλεια του Καθηγητή Γιάννη Χ. Αλεξανδρόπουλου, εξέχοντος ιστορικού της Οθωμανικής Αυτοκρατορίας, πανεπιστημιακού δασκάλου και παλαιού μέλους της Εταιρείας μας. Ο Γιάννης Αλεξανδρόπουλος άνοιξε με τις καινοτόμες και διεισδυτικές μελέτες του νέους δρόμους στη μελέτη των θεσμών, της κοινωνίας και της οικονομίας του οθωμανικού κόσμου και της Ελλάδας ειδικότερα, ενώ οι επιστημονικές δημοσιεύσεις του έτυχαν από την πρώτη στιγμή ευρείας διεθνούς αναγνώρισης.
